Introduction
The parents of the Storm Grove Middle School Band members have organized the Storm Grove Middle School Band Parent Association. The success of the Boosters is due, in part, to the active participation of both the parent and the student. Some objectives of the Band Parent Association are:
- To stimulate and maintain an enthusiastic interest in all phases of the band program.
- To cooperate with the band director to see that the band’s goals are met efficiently.
- To develop a closer relationship between parents, students, and the director and to stimulate the knowledge, performance, and appreciation of good music.
- To assist in fundraising to help finance certain extras not regularly provided for in the school budget.
- To aid in chaperoning band trips and activities and help pass out uniforms.
- To augment or encourage educational trips that are sanctioned by the school.
Volunteer
Band parents are the key to a successful band! We need you help to ensure that our students are successful. There are a number of opportunities for parents to volunteer for. If you are interested in volunteering for any of these events, please email the SGMSBPA at stormgroveband@gmail.com.

Fundraising
Our main fundraising event is our annual Pumpkin Patch Sale. This has been a longstanding tradition with the band program ever since Storm Grove opened, and has been widely successful each year! Of course, this event would not be a success without volunteers. The proceeds of this fundraiser goes straight to the band program and are used to pay for office equipment and supplies, instrument repairs, instrument accessories, bus transportation for all of our performances, meals to provide to students at performances, sheet music, instructional materials, and clinicians. Become a Board Member
Our SGMSBPA Executive Board consists of four positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Elections for board positions are done at the beginning of the school year. The Executive Board attends meetings with the band director once a month. If you are interested in running for a position or would like to know what positions are opening for the upcoming school year, please email the SGMSBPA at stormgroveband@gmail.com. |
